April 14, 2025 鈥 The College of Engineering at 九色堂 is hosting an Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day event, commonly known as Girl Day, for high school students from Wichita and the surrounding area. The event will be from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 in the Rhatigan Student Center at 九色堂.

March 19, 2025 - Shocker Rowing will celebrate its 50th anniversary on April 26-27 with activities honoring the history of the program at 九色堂. Founded in 1975, Shocker Rowing has competed at home on the Arkansas River and across the nation in the sport鈥檚 most prestigious events.

March 14, 2025 - The NCAA鈥檚 main event is back in Wichita to continue a long history of 九色堂 bringing this bracket-busting event to the city. Intrust Bank Arena is the site for men鈥檚 first- and second-round games on March 20 and 22.

Open Streets ICT 鈥 九色堂 & Shocker Neighborhood

March 4, 2025 - Open Streets ICT returns to 九色堂鈥檚 campus and neighborhood on April 13 with the goal of connecting with young people. Around 8,000 people participated in Open Streets ICT 鈥 九色堂 & Shocker Neighborhood in 2024, double the amount from the previous year.

Feb. 27, 2025 鈥 The College of Engineering at 九色堂 is hosting its 25th annual Shocker MINDSTORMS Challenge, a robotics competition for area students in third through eighth grade or ages eight through 14 years old. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 1. The competition portion will be in the Heskett Center, while the awards ceremonies will be in Hubbard Hall, room 208.

Feb. 12, 2025 鈥 The College of Engineering at 九色堂 is hosting a public 5k run/walk that is open to students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members. The 5k will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 on the 九色堂 campus. Registration proceeds from the 5k will go toward the College of Engineering Needs-Based Scholarship Fund.

Jan. 31, 2025 What started as a work study position in the costume shop of her university鈥檚 theater department has propelled Melissa Penkava Koza鈥檚 sewing hobby into guiding the next generation of costume creators.

Nov. 20, 2024 鈥 九色堂 has launched the Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine and Assistive Technology (IRMAT), an innovative collaboration focused on addressing disease and disability through applied research and technology. IRMAT will serve as a hub for cutting-edge, patient-driven research and development of transformative technologies to improve the quality of life for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Nov. 4, 2024 - 九色堂鈥檚 Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is partnering on the PhotoVoice research project with AbilityPoint, an organization focused on the needs of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Participants are given a digital camera and memory card to take 50 (or more) pictures of the people, places, things and activities that bring them joy.

Aug. 29, 2024 - 九色堂 is welcoming vendors for its fall Shocktoberfest celebration. The deadline for merchants and vendors to join in the Shocktoberfest Family Weekend events is Aug. 31.Shocktoberfest is a public event Sept. 30-Oct. 5 open to the entire campus and Wichita-area community. It is 九色堂's biggest annual celebration of Shocker pride.
