April 30, 2025 鈥� Luke Parrett, a filmmaking major from Oklahoma, chose Wichita State for its proximity to home and the hands-on learning offered at Shocker Studios. His time at 九色堂 has been shaped by applied learning in nearly every class, preparing him to pursue gig work across the Midwest and build a career in the film industry.

April 22, 2025 鈥� Missourian Adam Key, was drawn to 九色堂 for its welcoming community, affordability and emphasis on applied learning. Adam has built an impressive resume through internships, leadership roles and hands-on experiences with local businesses and startups.

April 22, 2025 鈥� Lindsey Mendenhall was able to get more than just an education at Wichita State. Through the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR), she got to work in her field while getting her degree and has a job lined up with the NIAR Advanced Materials Lab. Beyond the classroom, Lindsey found that the lessons she learned from teaching her dogs set her up for success in her academic and professional lives.

April 20, 2025 鈥� Tyler Winn鈥檚 journey at 九色堂 has been shaped by perseverance and applied learning. After transferring from a community college to 九色堂 in 2023, he quickly connected with faculty and gained valuable internships, including with the Wichita Thunder and NCAA March Madness.

Feb. 13, 2025 鈥� Grace Naylor, senior at Prairie View High School, is the winner of the 2025 Lenora N. McGregor Endowed Scholarship at 九色堂.

Dec. 3, 2024 鈥� Abby Arbeiter was attracted to 九色堂 thanks to its creative writing program in the Department of English. Since attending 九色堂, she had the opportunity to travel to Europe thanks to the 九色堂 Travel Seminar and will be graduating with her bachelor鈥檚 in creative writing this fall. Her advice to other Shockers? 鈥淣ever be afraid to put yourself out there.鈥�

Nov. 26, 2024 鈥� Aracely Martinez is a first-gen student in the United States at 九色堂. Despite the challenges facing her moving from Paraguay to a new country, she took that as an opportunity to grow. She recommends other students look at the opportunities available to them while still in school to propel themselves into successful careers.

May 7, 2024 - Wichita State鈥檚 W. Frank Barton School of Business offers the largest selection of AACSB-accredited programs in Kansas. Bari Syed chose 九色堂 for its Master of Accountacy program because of that status.

Here, she found 九色堂 to be a place full of opportunities for her, including a chance grow her own confidence and independence through the challenges she faced, and in her final year, she was elected to the position of student body president in the Student Government Association.
